Benholm Kirk, Kincardineshire: Situated in the Mearns, an area immortalised in Lewis Grassic Gibbon’s classic Sunset Song, Benholm Kirk is a Category A-listed parish church dating from 1832. The somewhat stark exterior contrasts with an interior rich in character and atmosphere, containing a number of notable carved monuments from the 17th century. Purchased by the SRCT in February 2006 with the support of the local community.

Tibbermore Church, Perthshire: In its beautiful rural setting, Tibbermore's post-Reformation appearance belies a complex history. The original building, dating from 1632, has a remarkable birdcage bellcote and was remodelled in 1789 and 1808 when the Ruthven Printfield Aisle was added. Rare stained glass memorial windows of 1920 by Oscar Paterson commemorate women who served in WW1 - thought to be unique in a small rural church of this type.
